Looks like Justice are faking… (via)
I am a huge fan of Justice’s music, and i kinda regretted missing their (what i thought was) overpriced show when they came to austin last year, but now maybe not so much. Though this may be slightly old news, if you look at these photos (via betaportal) you can clearly see Justice performing with an unplugged midi controller. Now, there are a few things that i am slightly skeptical about this photo, because it both might be an instance when the midi becomes unplugged (which i doubt), but also because it looks like they are performing on a couple of folding tables instead of their normal setup. Sounds Reviews: The Frontier Brothers – Space Punk Starlet
In Short: An upbeat, very clean, piano based indie-pop sound, with a look that occasionally inspires doubletakes. I hope you like songs about love, because that’s what you’re getting.

Free Week (day 9)
The last night of free week was one of the better nights. With my favorite of the night, Shapes Have Fangs. They have a very mid-60’s sound. It was pretty good, i will be checking them out sometime soon for sure. Another point of interest was the Minotaurs (though i’m sure they would rather not have it brought up, but i suspected at the time, and later confirmed that this was (former sound team member) Matt Oliver’s new band). I have always been a fan of his style, though i think Sunset has held on to their old sound, more than these minotaurs. Another band i was admiring was International Waters, but i only saw them finishing their set as i came in from being outside for some reason. It was a long week, can’t wait till next year. Free Week ‘09 (day 8)
So, i got around a lot this time. I was at Mohawk most of the night, but skipped over to Emo’s for a while. I had to call it a night a little early, but really i was out to have some fun. I saw Many Birthdays first; they were good. I didn’t know they were playing that night, but i recognized their songs pretty quickly. After that i stuck around cause the person i was with wanted to see Moth!Fight!. Now, I actually have quite a bit to say about Moth!Fight!. Keep reading →

Free Week 09 (day 7)
So… i didn’t actually go to free week this night… per se. It was a friend’s birthday (not elvis, sorry) and i was stuck at beauty bar watching as the birthday girl spilt drinks in my lap and yelled at poor coke zero distributors with full immunity.
I don’t know who this band is, but i would be happy to link to their page if someone told me… and… hmm. Basically that’s it. I will seriously try and get the rest up very soon, posting a week late is not excusable.

Free Week 09 (day 6)
This was a short night for me too. I remember really liking the strange attractors… and pretty much nothing else (yikes).

Free Week 09 (day 5)
No metal for me thank you… i cut out early (yes, i could have gone to mohawk, but i was tired and annoyed). Though moonlight towers is a good idea for a band name.

Free Week 09 (day 4)
Oh goodness, where does the time go… I have been a super lazy this week keeping up with posting. So, the rest of these updates will be less detailed for two reasons. First, because Sunday was the best day at that i experianced, and second, because my memory fades due to the lonestar and lack of sleep. Anyhow, Zookeeper was good as usual, and the Booher and the Turkeyz is definitely interesting, but pretty standard all in all.
