Matt & Kim at Mohawk: 6-27-08 (+ bridge show)

Matt & Kim

Matt & Kim are the best.  I’ve never seen anyone smile so much while on stage.  It’s that positive spirit that makes me love going to their shows whenever I can.  I saw them first at Mess With Texas, but they played at Mohawk Friday night.  I totally showed up late, but that ended up not being a problem as I got to see all the bands perform by the end of the night.  Matt & Kim went on right as I got my first beer, and I was pumped that I had made it on time.  That keyboard felt like an organ, but the crowd was so bunched up, you couldn’t really feel anything.  Things got crazy when they played yea yeah and silver tiles, but other than that everything was pretty much in control.  Oh, except when Kim got the mic and started blurting out embarrassing information to kill time while equipment was getting fixed.  Stagediving was all the rage and Matt even got in on the act at the end of the show.  After the show ended they said the afterparty was at the bridge… (pictures below)

Afterparty…

At the bridge (which apparently is called the Pfluger Bridge, I feel like I should have known that), the party got started with Crystal Antlers, followed by a set by Team Robespierre (that name is basically impossible to remember how to spell), and finally Death Set when the whole thing was shut down by the cops at 3:37am… then I went home.  It was cool, but the equipment wasn’t working that well, but things still got a bit rowdy.
